What a mini jet is

No prop. No problem in shallow water.

A mini jet is a small aluminum boat with a jet pump instead of a propeller. Nothing hangs below the hull, so it can run rivers that would wreck a prop.

Most of ours use a personal watercraft engine. That keeps the boat light, quick, and easy to work on.

The hull

Proven designs, welded here.

Most of our mini jets start as an Atom Boats hull kit. We weld it in our Homer shop. The Atom hull has a three-piece bottom with a thick center section, which is where a river boat takes its hits.

We also finish hulls you bring us. In 2023 we set up a 10 foot Jetstream hull a customer had already welded.

The power

You pick the engine.

We run Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Sea-Doo watercraft engines. You can buy the engine yourself and we install it. That way you stay in charge, and you know we aren't adding fees on top.

Want more? We built a 3.9 Atom with a 500 hp LS3 V8 and a Southern Jet pump from New Zealand. It fits in about the same space as a watercraft engine.

Tested every season

We use our boats too.

Our shop boats go out hunting and fishing every year. That's how we learn what holds up and what doesn't, before we build yours.

A boat that hauls a moose out of a shallow river is ready for your trip.

How to buy

Three ways to get your mini jet.

01

Turnkey boat

We build the whole boat: hull, engine, layout, and finish. It leaves our shop ready to run.

02

Welded hull

We weld the hull and you finish it yourself, or with a shop near you. We ship to the Lower 48.

03

Finish your hull

Already have a welded hull? Bring it in. We set it up with power, seats, and the extras you want.

Questions

Before you call.

Can I bring my own engine?
Yes. Many customers buy the engine themselves and we install it. If you'd rather not, we can help you find one.
Can I buy just the hull?
Yes. We sell welded hulls you can finish yourself or with a shop near you.
Do you ship outside Alaska?
Yes. We ship to the Lower 48. Call us and we'll work out the details for where you live.
What does a mini jet cost?
It depends on the hull, the engine, and the options you pick. Call us or send a build request and we'll talk it through with you.
Will you work on a mini jet you didn't build?
Yes. We finish hulls other people welded, and we can add options to the boat you already own.
